Opening hours
Please note
The Prehistoric sites in the Vézère valley are only open for guided tours.
- The number of visitors admitted each day is limited. You must book your visit online.
- Tickets are checked at each site 30 minutes before the start of your visit. For the Abri du Poisson, La Ferrassie, Le Moustier and Laugerie-Haute, please arrive 30 minutes before the start of your visit at the Font-de-Gaume cave ticket office (Les Eyzies).
- Everyone taking part in a visit to the caves, shelters or archaeological deposits must be in possession of a ticket.

Abri du Cap-Blanc:

The first Sunday of each month from November to March for the Font-de-Gaume and Combarelles caves and the Cap-Blanc shelter.

Grotte de Font-de-Gaume, Grotte des Combarelles: €11.50 per site
Abri du Cap-Blanc: €7.50
Price per person from 20 paying adults.
Any person coming with a tourism professional with no minimum number of people.

Grotte de Font-de-Gaume - reception and ticket office: at Les Eyzies, take the road in direction of Sarlat, on the D47
Abri du Cap-Blanc: from Les Eyzies or Sarlat, on the D47, follow the D48 towards Tamniès / Abri du Cap-Blanc.
BY TRAIN
Paris-Limoges-Périgueux-Agen line. Travel time from Périgueux: 30 min
Distance from Les Eyzies SNCF station: around 2 kilometers to the Grotte de Font-de-Gaume, 3.5 kilometers to the Grotte des Combarelles and around 9 kilometers to the Abri du Cap-Blanc.
BY BIKE
Electrically-assisted bikes can be hired in the centre of Les Eyzies. The Lascaux-Dordogne Vallée Vézère Tourist Office and its tourist information office in Les Eyzies will be happy to help you.

- Please note that for conservation reasons, visits to the Font-de-Gaume cave (inside) are limited to 30 minutes.
Abri du Poisson and archaeological deposits of La Micoque, Le Moustier, La Ferrassie, Laugerie-Haute

- Suitable for children aged 7 and over for the Abri du Poisson, and 10 and over for the other sites.
- Conference visits :
- Suitable for children aged 13 and over.
- Limited capacity.
- You must book your visit online.
- Time on site : approximately 1h30 visit per site, travel included.
Access conditions to the sites
As part of the Vigipirate plan, no bags are allowed in the sites.
No dogs allowed.
Photographs and films prohibited.
Grotte de Font-de-Gaume:
Cave temperature: arround 14°C. Bring suitable clothing.
Access to the cave via a steep, narrow path (around 400 m long).
In the cave: winding, narrow tour route. Darkness. No seats.
Grotte des Combarelles:
Cave temperature: around 12°C. Bring suitable clothing.
In the cave: tour route with narrow, low passages. Darkness. No seats.
Abri du Cap-Blanc:
Temperature in the shelter varies between 15 and 18°C. Bring suitable clothing.
Access from the car park via a winding forest path (around 200 m long), with a downward slope of around 11.5%.
Reception building: ramp >15%.
Abri du Poisson :
Partly outdoor site. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed shoes.
Necessary vehicle: site located approximately 3 km from the ticket office.
Access to the site: Grand Roc car park around 300 metres from the Abri, including around 150 metres of steep, narrow forest path. Suitable shoes are essential. Depending on the number of cars, parking is possible below the forest path leading to the shelter.
Gisement de La Micoque :
Outdoor site. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed shoes.
Necessary vehicle: site located in the commune of Les Eyzies, approximately 5 km from the ticket office.
Gisement du Moustier :
Outdoor site. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed shoes.
Vehicle required: site located in the commune of Le Moustier, approximately 10 km from the ticket office.
Access to the site: parking below the archaeological deposit. Climb with gravel > 8 %.
Due to the nature of the remains discovered at Le Moustier, the subject of child, newborn and foetal mortality will be addressed, in particular through the use of visuals (burials, skeletons).
Gisement de La Ferrassie:
Outdoor site. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed shoes.
Vehicle required: site located in the commune of Savignac-de-Miremont, approximately 13 km from the ticket office.
Due to the nature of the remains discovered at La Ferrassie, the subject of child, newborn and foetal mortality will be addressed, in particular through the use of visual aids (burials, skeletons).
Gisement de Laugerie-Haute:
Outdoor site. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear closed shoes.
Vehicle required: site located in the commune of Les Eyzies, approximately 4.5 km from the ticket office.
